AutoMap
A downloadable project for Linux
AutoMap is a program that uses cellular automata to generate maps that change over time.
There is only Linux support now; I tried to compile it on Windows, but it didn't work. If you are on Windows or OS X, you can try compiling the source yourself, but you may need to edit the code for it to work. If you have compiled it on another platform, please contact pommicket@gmail.com.
You must have ffmpeg or avconv if you would like to create a video of the map over time, and ImageMagick. If you're on Debian/Ubuntu, you can use apt-get install libav-tools imagemagick. If you somehow manage to get it working on Windows, the ffmpeg/avconv executable must be in your PATH.
Warning: AutoMap can use a lot of disk space. The default settings will use about 300MB.
